Nick Patterson11 Jun 2015 - 12:43

Get your tent and wellies sorted and get down to the Hive. Its £45 to camp for four nights...

This year's big headliners are Manchester band James, but there is a whole bucket load of good stuff on. I wont bother copying the listing, go check it out for yourself here:

We at the Bees offer the nearest camp site to the festival, and we rather immodestly would like to think we offer the best facilities. There will also be live bands on at the Club on Saturday and Sunday night.

You can book directly here:

£45 for four nights. A bargain!!

Just to show I am a wizard at cutting and pasting, here is a brief history of BML I have just nicked off their website:

Growing in stature year on year, Bingley Music Live has been operating in its current format since 2007. In 2012 the festival ran the tagline ‘Big Heart, Big Sounds’ – this succinct message perfectly summarises everything that is great about Bingley Music Live.

Feedback from performers and festival-goers alike continues to be incredibly positive and the media seem unable to hold back the love, with Virtual Festivals awarding BML a rare 10/10 score. The high standard of production, friendliness, excellent organisation and the beautiful surrounding of Myrtle Park all contribute to the audience’s enjoyment.

But it didn’t all start in 2007, in fact Bradford Council has staged a series of live summer music events of one kind or another at the beautiful Myrtle Park since 1991. In that 24 year history there has been some memorable ups and downs!

Initially conceived as a 3 day event featuring a broad spectrum of musical genres from classical to pop to jazz, this was soon condensed into a single day of live pop acts; featuring many retro chart-toppers such as Edwin Starr, Suzi Quatro, Boney M and Alvin Stardust.

By 1997 the event stretched over 2 days and was organised in partnership with local radio station 'The Pulse'. This reformatted 'Party in the Park' style of event was all set to see the introduction of a number of acts from the current chart scene as well as retro pop groups from yesteryear.

Unfortunately, the very first Party in the Park was all set to stage an up-and-coming girl band called 'All Saints' but sadly the event was cancelled as a mark of respect, following the death of the Princess of Wales, which occurred earlier that day. The event bounced back in 1998 and other acts that appeared during this Party in the Park era included big mainstream stars such as Charlotte Church, Busted, McFly, Rachel Stevens and Gareth Gates.

This two day, weekend festival of live music continued until 2006 but this sadly turned out to be the final year. In February 2007 The Pulse announced their withdrawal from the partnership and as a result Bradford Council decided to pull the plug on the event.

Thankfully, in May 2007 following a considerable amount of pressure from supporters of the event the Council made a U-turn and decided to go it alone.
